Mike, thanks for the suggestion. Fortunately, I tried un-re-plugging all connections due to seeing this happen to so many people over the years.
But unfortunately, this wasn’t the problem. Fortunately, I had an extra 18gig 10K drive just sitting around.
And fortunately, I did have my important stuff backed up so it wasn’t a showstopper.
So that’s the up and down side to my situation. 😉
I don’t know Winnie, but congrats on asking BEFORE buying!
I’m sure Mike will chime in soon. 😆
Thanks Mike! Just like the old days! 😉
And thanks Casey also. You made me check and I found, (thanks to Mike’s post), that my Audio drive went kaput!
I had a new one laying around and now the GC is back and running.
Unfortunately, I lost all my video since it wouldn’t let me just format the audio drive???
Ya know…I just opened my “Global” settings and it indicated clips were going to D/Globecaster/Clips. So I thought I’d try and record on my timemachine.
When I tried, it couldn’t do it. I tried from the VTR panel and it showed Time Machine 2??? Then I tried from the editor.
Then I went to open my TM and there is nothing there???
I haven’t used it in a while, but there should be a lot of stuff in there.
While I’m not nearly as active on this forum lately, I certainly hope to see many of our friends at NAB!!!
Leaving tomorrow! Yay!!! 😆
I was talking about “Un-installing then Re-installing” the GC software.
I have found many applications will update or overtake another softwares dll’s or other files.
It’s a bummer, but with video/audio software, they think they are the only thing that matters.
There are so many variables that can effect each other.
Again, it’s just a guess, but since helping to develop Video/Audio Software since Trinity 1.0 as well as other Video Sysytems, I’ve seen things like this MANY, MANY times.
I wish you luck!
I’m not sure it’s the Cakewalk software, but if you need it on that computer, try un-re-installing the GC software.
It sounds as if the Cakewalk software overrode some GC settings.
Often re-installing your primary software will take back those settings.
Of course, that doesn’t guarantee that Cakewalk will work properly!
I’ll be there Saturday, leaving Wednesday night.
Ideally, you should paint the floor. Don’t forget to add the “un-painting” in the budget as well.
We use the Holoset material. Works pretty well, even at the floor angle.
We also use seamless paper as long as the shot isn’t too wide. We put a pole through he roll, held with stands, and simple roll it down as long s you need. This eliminates the back bottom edges.
Esa, I couldn’t find it either? ❓
By the way, I sold one but still have one more I can sell and one I’m keeping. Just in case anyone could use one.
Congrats Karl. I’m sure a talented guy like you will make it look great!
I still have two unopened Ace boxes for sell if anyone needs one.

That shows some definite improvements. Way to go!
I still think the CG is one of the best, easiest CG’s I’ve used.
Not much has been improved in some time, but it’s easy and clean alright.
